Conor McGregor serenaded his 10.2 million X followers with Akon’s “Locked Up” on an X voice note. Unfortunately, this led to a copyright notice against McGregor which resulted in his account suspension. Fortunately for McGregor, it was a temporary suspension.

The future of this musical feud is uncertain, but it shows McGregor’s ability to entertain beyond combat sports.

McGregor was last seen inside the octagon at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier when he broke his leg. He recently enrolled in the USADA testing pool and is rumored to face off against his rival coach at TUF 31, Michael Chandler at UFC 300.

Dustin Poirier recently revealed his interest in fighting McGregor for the fourth time even though he is 2-1 in their rivalry. Moreover, McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh in a recent interview hinted that the UFC is planning to make McGregor’s return in July 2024.

After his temporary account suspension, McGregor shared a screenshot on Instagram, humorously captioning it “Akon not happy hahaha.” Moreover, he promised a diss track against Akon as a response to the copyright strike from Platform X.

McGregor quickly released a freestyle diss track on social media. He humorously addressed the situation, initially playful but later veering into humor and absurdity.

Nevertheless, Akon has not publicly responded to McGregor’s diss track yet. The outcome of this unexpected showdown between the combat sports star and the singer remains to be seen.

Interestingly, he will be making his Hollywood debut in the remake of the Road House movie with Jake Gyllenhaal as the protagonist.
