“Jeanie Buss needs money that bad”: Fans cringe over Lakers teaming up with Logan Paul’s Prime

Logan Paul has been making waves with his recent jump to WWE, and since then, his Prime energy drink’s stock has grown exponentially. Now, the Maverick has hooked another big fish with the NBA staple team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Led by the mercurial sporting talent and savvy businessman LeBron James, Logan Paul’s Prime will now be a part of the Lakers dynasty.

However, murmurs about the nutrient qualities of the energy drinks have raised concerns among the Lakers fans.

Lakers strike deal with Logan Paul’s Prime

After collaborating with WWE, the YouTubers and business partners Logan Paul and KSI’s brand has been associated with the NBA’s joint most title-winning team, the Los Angeles Lakers. On Tuesday, the LA franchise announced Prime as their official sports drink.

The announcement was made on social media from the Lakers’ official account with the caption, “Get ready L.A., Prime Hydration is the new Official Sports Drink of the Los Angeles Lakers.” The post had pictures of the duo wearing the Lakers jersey promoting their brand. The Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell, who is sponsored by Coco 5, will be in a difficult spot now.

While Prime has penetrated the basketball market striking the deal with the Lakers, it has already been associated with the big clubs of soccer like FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

Lakers fans express their disapproval of Prime move

After collaborating with WWE, the YouTubers and business partners Logan Paul and KSI’s brand has been associated with the NBA’s joint most title-winning team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Here are some comments and tweets from NBA fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) who disapprove of the move.

A fan commented, “Boooooo Jeanie Buss needs money that bad,” booing the franchise’s president and suggesting that she agreed to the deal because she needed more money.

To oppose the decision, someone wrote that they will now have COCO 5, which is Prime’s rival in business, saying, “NAW WE ARE DRINKING COCO 5.”

Showing serious health concern and calling it quits with the team, a fan commented, “Damn time to support another team that doesn’t promote poison,”

An NBA fan commented, “Where is the dislike button,” to show how they feel about the agreement.

Another fan, who was quick to spot that the pictures were photoshopped, commented, “KSI with the same pose in both photos go harddddd (fire emoji) it’s incredible how he can replicate it pixel by pixel over and over again.” KSI was probably not present during the promotion, as he had the exact same pose in both pictures.

The energy drink brand has taken over the sports market rapidly in the past two years, crossing $1.2 billion in 2022 sales now with the Lakers on board, the numbers are expected to only rise.
