Lionel Messi’s admission about his latest interest can encourage NFL fans

Life has been good for Lionel Messi lately. The Argentine didn’t have the best of times when he moved to PSG in the summer of 2021 following the expiration of his contract at Barcelona. It was a wrong move for Messi, as sources close to him would later reveal. He was never fully accepted despite being one of the best players to ever play the sport, and more often than not, he was made the scapegoat whenever things went south.

After the World Cup triumph in Qatar, Lionel Messi decided to pursue happiness again, a journey that brought him to the United States to play in the MLS. He has since been playing with a smile on his face again, picking up new hobbies, like admitting his new-found interest in another American sport, which delights NFL fans.

Lionel Messi reveals his interest in NFL

Several good things have been happening to Lionel Messi since making his infamous switch from Europe to North America to link up with David Beckham’s Inter Miami. He has since been the center of attention in the United States, with several American celebrities flocking to the stadium to watch the man live in action.

Having spent almost a year in the United States, Lionel Messi is now getting accustomed to the American culture, like learning a lot about the NFL, which is known as American football. “Tennis, padel, basketball, and American football,” the World Cup winner said when asked what his favorite sports are.

“I’m learning a lot about American football, and I’m getting to know it better and loving it,” he concluded. Finding out about American sports is not the only thing Messi has been up to.

A few days ago, he embarked on a new business adventure with Mark Anthony Brands by partnering with the company to launch a new line of non-alcoholic hydrated drinks. The drinks will be distributed in the United States and Canada this summer before hitting the rest of the world.

Lionel Messi recently topped Tom Brady in exclusive list

Since moving to the United States, Lionel Messi has won his eighth Ballon d’Or award and become the first soccer player to be named TIME’s Athlete of the Year. It’s safe to say the Argentine has benefited from the huge fanbase he’s created in the country since moving there last summer to join Inter Miami. He hasn’t spent up to a year in the States, but the little man is loving it there!

Just last month, the Social Science Research Solutions group conducted a nationwide survey and declared Messi the most popular athlete in the United States. By doing so, he surpassed famous American sports stars like Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Peyton Manning, and Steph Curry.

It’s quite understandable how he’s managed to achieve this feat less than a year after signing for Inter Miami. His global popularity has greatly increased since he made the switch to the MLS. He’s also becoming a part of American sports culture, as his match-worn jerseys during the last World Cup sold for $2.3 million at an auction.
