Logan Paul’s ‘weak scripted’ Kevin Owens scrap before their Royal Rumble title match disappoints wrestling fans

YouTube star turned wrestler, Logan Paul, has achieved remarkable success in his short time with WWE. The Maverick became the WWE United States Champion after defeating Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel on November 4, 2023, at Mohammed Abdo Arena.

Not so long ago, Kevin Owens emerged victorious in the tournament for the United States Championship. Since then, Logan has had a feud with the 39-year-old star. Recently, both athletes clashed after Paul started taunting KO at the WWE Performance Center, leaving some WWE fans disappointed with the collision.

Logan Paul gets into a fight with Kevin Owens

The upcoming pay-per-view event, Royal Rumble, scheduled for January 27, is one of the highly anticipated events of the year. WWE fans worldwide hold their breath to watch their favorite superstar win the premium event and have their respective Road to WrestleMania moment.

This year, Logan Paul will defend his United States Championship against Kevin Owens at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Over the month, both wrestlers have clashed several times, with Kevin knocking Paul with a punch at SmackDown New Year’s Revolution and later Logan attacking Owens’s injured hand in the ring post.

Recently both WWE wrestlers were seen at the WWE Performance Center. During their training session, Paul taunted KO, leading to Kevin rushing into the ring and starting a full-out brawl. The trainees and coaches around the center quickly intervened and stopped both wrestlers from escalating the situation any further.

Logan Paul and Kevin Owens go way back in their rivalry. Paul showed a clip in last week’s SmackDown, where KO after his match with Sami Zayn on WrestleMania 36 hit him with a stunner. This time their match at Royal Rumble 2024 will finally conclude the animosity among them.

Wrestling fans are not impressed by Logan Paul and Kevin Owens’s scrap

Logan Paul and Kevin Owens’s scrap at the WWE Performance Center has left some fans skeptical about the authenticity of their fight. Wrestling fans have shared their opinion on social media about the clash and they are not happy with the incident.

One WWE fan commented on Twitter on January 26 that the fight was totally scripted and barely entertaining. The caption read, “So funny to me when kids grow up and always take time to comment scripted. When everybody has already known what you’ve grown up to find out. It’s been scripted entertainment!”. Another fan on the same day posted, “My 3rd-grade school play looked less staged than this.”

The match between Kevin and Logan will see one of the anticipated bouts for the U.S. championship. Bill Apter spoke on ‘Sportskeeda’s UnSKripted’ said Logan might retain his title successfully in the upcoming match. He said, “I think Kevin Owens is gonna put up a hell of a fight. But I think he is gonna lose his temper, and I think either disqualification or something, but Logan Paul will retain the championship.”
