Mercedes Mone’s first challenger unveiled at AEW Dynasty

The wrestling community had just taken part in the first-ever AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event, which was AEW’s second big event of the year. With the crowning of a new TBS champion tonight, this significant moment ended up confirming Mercedes Moné’s first AEW opponent for the upcoming AEW’s Double or Nothing.

Julia Hart and Willow Nightingale had a riveting bout in the women’s division at tonight’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view. The crowd was enthralled by the explosive and skilled struggle between the two wrestlers. Nightingale came out on top in the end by pinning Hart to win the TBS Championship in only six minutes.

Right after she won, Nightingale got a new task when Mercedes Moné stepped in to be her first title opponent, setting the stage for their upcoming clash at AEW Double or Nothing. It was a moment that Moné’s fans have eagerly awaited since her last appearance on AEW Dynamite. The AEW CEO swiftly joined the party in the ring, and then the AEW Double or Nothing graphic was shown, confirming the match for the event on Sunday, May 26.

The dramatic section ended with Nightingale proudly raising her new championship over a glaring Moné and celebrating with supporters and her family ringside. The CEO personally confirmed that next Sunday, the former NJPW champion would return to the ring for sure while sharing her in-ring status.

Tony Khan shares Mercedes Mone’s in-ring status

The promotion’s dynamics have changed drastically after Mercedes Mone joined AEW. Despite her meteoric rise to fame, she has yet to step foot in a ring competition. In the media frenzy that followed the AEW Dynasty, President Tony Khan addressed questions on Mone’s AEW in-ring status. He said that the green light is about to go out for the former WWE star to compete in her AEW Double or Nothing debut for the TBS championship belt.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
