MMA star Tom Aspinall’s confidence unfazed by potential bout against Jon Jones: “I’m two speeds above everybody else”

Tom Aspinall’s recent dominant victory over Marcin Tybura has elevated his ambitions within the heavyweight division. The British fighter remains undeterred as he confidently expressed his desire to face Jon Jones in the future.

Aspinall’s bout at UFC London Fight Night garnered significant attention from the MMA community, making it an electrifying and action-packed event for fans. The Briton’s performance certainly lived up to the expectations, delivering a first round knockout victory that delighted his supporters.

Tom Aspinall believes he can beat Jon Jones

The British heavyweight is aiming for greater accomplishments and has already stated his intentions to take on formidable opponents in the division. During a recent podcast with Nik Hobbs from Sky Sports, Aspinall openly expressed his desire to fight Jon Jones.

“I definitely am capable of doing that to Jon Jones. Jon Jones is one of the greatest of all time, but I’m definitely confident I can beat him. Whether I can beat him with that much ease, I don’t know. But I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens, you know what I mean?” Tom said.

Aspinall’s UFC debut in 2020 was nothing short of remarkable, as he secured a victory against Jake Collier. Since then, he has built on that success, showcasing his dominance with five consecutive wins in the heavyweight division.

Tom’s impressive triumphs against Alan Baudot, Andrei Arlovski, Serghei Spivac, and Alexander Volkov have firmly established him as a rising prospect in the sport. Now Aspinall displayed tenacity as he made a remarkable comeback from an injury.

Aspinall boastfully claims he is better than everybody

In the podcast, Aspinall emphasized his determination not to be underestimated by being overly polite.  The 30-year-old fighter made it clear that his ambitions go beyond merely defeating the Bones.

“I feel like I’m one of the most skilled heavyweights ever. I feel like I’m also two speeds above everybody else and doing stuff that people can’t even see at heavyweight. So, I’m definitely capable of doing it, but whether or not it’ll play out like that, who knows?” Tom added.

Aspinall’s ultimate goal is to become the UFC heavyweight champion, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that feat. As it seems from his most recent octagon fight that he is very well right on the track to become one.
