Roman Reigns is one of the most famous WWE superstars. The Tribal Chief made his first WWE debut on September 9, 2010 and now he holds the undisputed WWE Universal Championship, which he won on August 30, 2020.
Roman has been in WWE for more than a decade and has been to WrestleMania several times, where he won career-changing matches and also lost some matches to other WWE stars. Many of his outstanding victories came in WrestleMania, the grandest stage of WWE.
How did Roman Reigns fare at WrestleMania over the years?
Roman Reigns has been the face of WWE for some time, as he holds the record of 1255 days for being the undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The Big Dog has headlined ‘The Show of Shows’ five times in his career.
“The Tribal Chief’s” first WrestleMania debut was at WrestleMania 29, where he faced Sheamus, Randy Orton, and Big Show alongside his faction, The Shield. During the match, Big Show abandoned his teammates Sheamus and Randy Orton, who were destroyed by the dominant faction at the time. Roman Reigns secured the match after he ‘speared’ Orton and made the pinfall.
Roman’s second match at WrestleMania was at WrestleMania 30 on April 6, 2014. He, along with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, faced the trio of Kane and the New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn). During the match, the Head of the Table delivered a ‘Spear’ to all three opponents and ended the match when they used their ‘Double Triple Powerbomb’ on Road Dogg and Billy Gunn.
Roman Reigns lost his first WrestleMania match when he faced Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on WrestleMania 31. ‘The Big Dog’ lost the match when Seth Rollins suddenly appeared to cash in his MITB contract and used his finisher, ‘Curb Stomp’, to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
In WrestleMania 32, Roman faced off against the Cerebral Assassin, Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight title. During the match, Roman Reigns hit Triple H with 3 spears and the last spear secured his victory. After that, he faced Undertaker and won again in the No Holds Barred match.
The Tribal Chief’s last loss in WrestleMania was in WM 34, where he faced Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Lesnar hit him with six F-5s, and Roman delivered three spears. But ultimately, the Beast Incarnate retained the title and defeated Reigns for the last time.
Is Roman Reigns vs The Rock official for WM 40?
The Rock surprised fans when he returned to the Raw: Day 1 event and during the segment, he teased a possible bout with Roman Reigns for the Head of the Table position. In the last edition of Friday Night SmackDown The Rock and Roman had an intense staredown. The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes came face-to-face with Roman Reigns in that episode, where he said he would not fight ‘The Tribal Chief’ in WM 40 as there is another person eagerly waiting for that opportunity.

Some fans were distraught by the news about The Rock replacing Cody Rhodes, while others were excited about both WWE superstars going against each other for the first time. Although this has been teased several times, this will be the first time that both cousins will decide who among them is better and deserves to be the Head of the Table.
