Russell Westbrook once again in heated altercation with a fan during Clippers vs Hornets: “I don’t give a F*ck”

In his 16-year NBA career, Russell Westbrook has left a trail of astonishing feats of excellence through his robust gameplay. The former MVP is now eyeing his 3rd NBA championship with the Clippers in a tense season that is almost rolling into the post-season.

Amidst the frenzy of the playoff rush, the typically kind Russell Westbrook got involved in an altercation, a common occurrence during games. However, the issue here is that the heated debate was not with an opposing player.

Video: Russell Westbrook furious with one Hornet fan

One of the courtside fans successfully provoked the Clippers’ Russell Westbrook when the Charlotte Hornets hosted the Los Angeles franchise on Sunday night. A video of the veteran lashing out at a fan wearing a Hornets jersey went viral.

The incident escalated, with Westbrook furiously saying, “Don’t disrespect my name. Do you understand me? I don’t give a f**.” The fan was seen nodding his head in approval of what Westbrook was saying, although the cause of the spat is yet unknown.

Despite having a sloppy start in the initial months of the season, the Clippers have shown determination to win their first championship title by securing their position in the fourth spot of the Western table. Their 130-118 victory over the Hornets helped them maintain their spot in the playoffs bracket. Playing 20 minutes in the game, Westbrook delivered 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while an enormous part of the winning team’s score came from Paul George.

Although coming off the bench Westbrook has had a good impact on the team, however, his frequent altercation with hecklers could impact his performance and end up costing him the opportunity of winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy that both he and the franchise has been eyeing for years.

Russell Westbrook once got a Grizzlies fan ejected

Russell Westbrook has often been targeted by fans who make fun of his surname which he is sensitive about. In his early days at the Clippers last year, the scoring beast got into an argument with a Memphis Grizzlies fan during a game.

The fan, Benjamin Orgel, almost got ejected for only calling Russell “Westbrick” and nothing else. Upon revealing his side of the story, Orgel said that he was stunned by the player’s reaction to the name call. Westbrook asked the courtside security to eject Orgel. The guards took him out for around thirty seconds after confirming what he had said.

While the issue might sound petty to some, the fastest NBA player had his reasons to get mad at Orgel’s chant. Following the incident when Westbrook was asked about his action, the 9-time All-Star said, “Understanding what Westbrook means. Understanding how important that is to my dad, my grandfather, my family… The moment that line gets crossed, I won’t allow it no more. I stood for it for years. Now that my son is old enough to know what’s going on… Now I gotta stand on it.”

Given the serious attitude of the 35-year-old, the opposition fans should be wary of “Beastbrook” who might cost them their hard-earned money for the courtside seats.
