Merab Dvalishvili vows to ‘KO’ Sean O’Malley at Noche UFC

When Sean O’Malley fought Marlon Vera in the main event of UFC 299, Merab Dvalishvili weighed in as backup to strengthen his claim as the next title challenger. Now, Dvalishvili has vowed to knock out O’Malley after the champion’s ambitious plans to fight Ryan Garcia after knocking out the Georgian.

O’Malley is a big star in the UFC and has ambitions for high-profile crossover boxing fights. However, Dvalishvili does not think O’Malley could go forward with those plans, as he has other plans in mind.

“The KO will be coming from me so I guess I will be boxing Ryan next ??!! #UFCNoche,” tweeted Dvalishvili along with the Mexican flag and strength emoji.

Nonetheless, the possibility of Dvalishvili boxing Garcia is slim due to the Georgian’s grappling-centric fighting style. Moreover, Garcia and O’Malley have long been trading barbs at each other as to who is the better striker.

Sean O’Malley had recently revealed the reason for the delay in booking his fight against Dvalishvili. The upcoming PPVs already have headliners and the others are International PPVs which O’Malley has no intention of going to. Still, Sean O’Malley was among the names that Ryan Garcia called out after he defeated Devin Haney in a monumental upset as a +800 underdog.

Sean O’Malley’s ambitious plans

Sean O’Malley took the MMA world by storm when he upset the odds to TKO Aljamain Sterling in the main event of UFC 292 per MMAJunkie, to become the undisputed bantamweight champion. O’Malley successfully defended the title against Marlon Vera at UFC 299 and now has two potential opponents in mind.

“After I KO Merab Iā€™m boxing Ryan šŸ¤,” tweeted O’Malley of his plans to knock out the number one bantamweight contender box the superstar pugilist.

It needs to be noted that when O’Malley defended the title at UFC 299, his primary target was Ilia Topuria, the featherweight champion but Dana White shut it down at the post-fight press conference.
