Al Hilal’s $95 million star Neymar denounces false claims of managerial interference

Neymar Jr. made world headlines when he finally left Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The Brazilian chose money over passion, choosing Saudi club Al Hilal, who paid $95 million to PSG for the global star. Neymar himself got a very big contract, making him one of the highest-paid players in the world.

The former Barcelona star is known for brewing trouble wherever he goes, and it seems like it hasn’t taken long for the forward to get into a scandal again, as the 31-year-old has reportedly gotten into a clash in the Al Hilal dressing room.

Brazilian Star reportedly demanded manager’s dismissal after dressing room clash

Just earlier this week, sensational news came out regarding the Brazilian star with his new club. According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Neymar reportedly clashed with Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus in the dressing room after an Asian Champions League game against Navbahor Namangan. The match held last Tuesday ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the match, Neymar played really poorly and also seemed not to be interested in making any impact. He made a rash challenge worthy of a red card, and also missed a great opportunity to score. After the game, his manager, Jorge, was obviously not happy with his performance and attitude. He reprimanded him and apparently Neymar then clashed with him in front of his teammates, which could have gotten physical.

Soon, further rumors claimed that Neymar had spoken with the club and asked them to sack the Portuguese coach. This is a bit surprising to see a player that just arrived at the club ask the manager to be sacked. Many Arabic media outlets also claim that the club officials met with Jorge’s agent the same day and warned him that if performances of the team do not improve, he could be sacked soon.

Neymar slams lies surrounding manager sacking rumors

Soon after the rumors circulated, Neymar himself battled back and said that they were nothing but false claims.

In a comment from his Instagram account, the Brazilian said it was all lies and asked the media to stop reporting fake news. He said, “Lies… Y’all got to stop believing these things, pages like this… with millions of followers you can’t keep posting fake news! With all due respect in the world, I ask you to stop this. This is a lot of disrespect.”

Regardless of whether he really did feud with Jorge, the manager is still at risk of losing his job. Despite being second in the Saudi Pro League, and being unbeaten in all competitions yet, the club officials are reportedly unhappy with his team’s performances. Jesus had only joined this summer and has a contract until 2024. However, that could soon be cut short if the club isn’t happy with him.

Neymar himself hasn’t lived up to expectations. In just three games, he has one assist which was in his debut game. He is yet to score, but hopefully if he continues without any issues, he could dominate in his next games for the club. The Brazilian will have another chance when Al Hilal face Al Shabab on Saturday.
