Inter Miami Jersey Reveal: Lionel Messi exhibits 2024 away kit at Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas naming ceremony

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami are entering the new MLS season with renewed inspiration, eager to leave behind the disappointment of the previous season’s performances. Injuries hampered Messi’s impact late in the season, contributing to the club’s struggles. However, both player and team are focused on a strong resurgence, with reaching the MLS playoffs a key objective this time around.

Inter Miami presented a new jersey with a fresh design and sponsor for the next season. Lionel Messi and his teammates posed in the new jersey, with the club displaying the Royal Caribbean icon of the seas onboard the ship, which will sail in a few days.

Inter Miami have begun their first international pre-season tour and will travel to Saudi Arabia later this month to prepare for two friendly games with Neymar’s Al Hilal and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, in what will most likely be the last match between the two heavyweights, although Ronaldo’s participation is in serious doubt after the Portuguese forward picked up a surprising muscle injury that forced Al-Nassr to postpone their China tour.

On the Royal Caribbean ship, Mario Lopez served as the event’s host as the club unveiled its new away kit. Messi and the rest of Inter Miami also took part in the tradition of naming the ship of the club’s new sponsor Royal Caribbean.

This means fans will no longer see Lionel Messi in the famous XBTO, which was the first jersey he wore in his first season at the club. According to Yahoo Sports, the new jersey will feature other sponsors on the sleeves when the regular season resumes. The two sponsors were revealed to be Fracht Group and Apple TV.

Official Inter Miami sponsor Caribbean names new cruise ship

All eyes were on Lionel Messi when Inter Miami arrived on their new sponsor’s cruise ship for the unveiling of their new away kit and also the naming of the new cruise ship.

The Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas ship is reportedly the world’s biggest cruise ship, and it hosted Lionel Messi and the rest of the Inter Miami squad yesterday as the club celebrated the start of a new business relationship with a homegrown sponsor.

Messi took part in the celebration, as he was tasked with sending a champagne bottle against the hull of the ship.

Inter Miami have played two pre-season friendlies so far, drawing with El Salvador and losing to a fellow MLS side a few days ago.
