Jon Anik firmly believes Bruce Buffer’s UFC HOF credentials while sharing heartbreaking update about the ring announcer

Jon Anik, the UFC play-by-play commentator, is the unofficial holy trinity in the commentary booth along with Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan. With Rogan’s appearance on the commentary booth limited PPV events in the USA, the trio comes together less than 10 times per year.

Anik’s iconic line moment before Leon Edwards’ head kicked Kamaru Usman into oblivion is forever linked to eternity. Before he became a mainstay in the UFC commentary booth, Anik did commentary work for the recently defunct Bellator MMA, which recently merged with PFL.

Jon Anik provides heartbreaking update about Bruce Buffer

Jon Anik, in a recent interview with MMA Junkie Radio, broke heartbreaking news about Bruce Buffer, the UFC commentator. Like Anik in the commentary booth, Buffer is his counterpart ring announcer. Buffer lost his mother, Connie, aged 95, during Christmas and Anik came to know about it as a recent guest on Buffer’s It’s Time podcast.

“You know, his mother passed away, and, um, he broke that news on the It’s Time Podcast this week,” said Anik during his interview with MMA Junkie. Anik also spoke about wanting to have Bruce Buffer in the UFC Hall of Fame but is sad to now realize that Buffer’s mother won’t be there when it happens.

It needs to be noted that Jon Anik is a surefire entry into the UFC Hall of Fame for his exceptional performance in the commentary booth. It also needs to be noted that he even fills in for Dana White to conduct press conferences for the UFC.

Bruce Buffer has been with the UFC since UFC 8 and has been a full-time announcer for the MMA promotion since UFC 13. In addition to being an announcer for the UFC, Buffer also does announcement duties elsewhere and has also appeared in advertisements.

Anik wants Joe Rogan’s “eventual” UFC HOF induction to happen on live UFC broadcast

Jon Anik is stern in his desire to see fellow commentary partner Joe Rogan in the UFC Hall of Fame. “It’s an eventuality that Joe Rogan’s going to go into the UFC Hall of Fame and I would love for that to happen spontaneously live on a UFC broadcast”, said Anik of his desire to see the Hall of Fame announcement of Rogan happen on a live UFC broadcast.

“He has just done so much for our sport and for so many individuals within it,” Anik further said of Rogan’s contribution to the sport and the athletes in it. “I’m coming up on the nine year anniversary of my podcast; he’s the only reason I started the fucking thing,” said who went on to credit the success of his Anik and Florian podcast to the podcasting giant Joe Rogan.

Rogan, who resides in Texas in a beautiful home, was recently in the commentary booth with Anik and Daniel Cormier at UFC 296. Scheduling conflicts would mean that he will be absent at UFC 297, as it is in Canada but fans can expect Rogan back in the commentary booth at UFC 298 in Anaheim, California.
