Kylian Mbappe Injury Update: Despite not playing against Germany, PSG star expected to make comeback vs Nice

Many may not have realized it yet, but Kylian Mbappe is perhaps the most powerful soccer player in the world right now. From being offered an astronomical amount of money to play in Saudi Arabia to PSG always dancing to his tune, the Frenchman’s rise to the summit of the sport is the most amazing of any soccer player in recent years.

The PSG forward has also been made captain of the French national team, with the 24-year-old missing out on the powerhouse friendly game with Germany two days ago due to a minor injury. Despite this, Mbappe has been mooted for a comeback in PSG’s weekend game against Nice, much to the delight of the fans.

Kylian Mbappe suffers knee injury

Germany bounced back after a 4-1 humiliation at the hands of Japan with a 2-1 over France, breathing fresh air into the team’s dressing room after head coach Hansi Flick was axed. One notable absentee from the France squad that faced Germany was Kylian Mbappe. Despite not getting on the scoresheet, the PSG forward starred in the EURO qualifier against the Republic of Ireland. However, he suffered a knee injury a day before the Germany game, something France head coach Didier Deschamps confirmed after the game.

“Kylian had a problem with the patellar tendon, which is bothering him,” the French manager said. “If he couldn’t start, he shouldn’t have been brought on either,” the coach added. Despite being injured, Kylian Mbappe was named on the bench but failed to appear as France succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Germany in the friendly game.

Kylian Mbappe’s focus will now shift to PSG’s campaign as he looks to impress after the French club decided to put their issues behind to focus on what they can possibly achieve together. Mbappe had reached a stand-off with PSG by rejecting all the contract offers from the club, with his eyes only set on Real Madrid next season. Fortunately, the club managed to reach a compromise with him, reinstating him back into the first team, and the former Monaco man is scoring again.

Kylian Mbappe expected to be back before game vs Nice

Although Kylian Mbappe missed PSG’s first Ligue 1 game against Lorient, the Frenchman has bounced back with five goals in three games for the French giants, making him the most important player in Luis Enrique’s team. After missing the Germany game due to injury, the World Cup winner is now prepared to return to football as PSG host Nice tomorrow.
