Antony domestic violence: reviewing the latest development in Manchester United star’s alleged abuse saga

In recent times, there has been a notable increase in allegations of sexual assault involving football superstars. It’s worth mentioning that many of these allegations, over time, have proven to be without merit and lacking a factual basis. A recent example includes Benjamin Mendy, who was found not guilty of rape and attempted rape charges. Similarly, Mason Greenwood of Manchester United faced allegations of sexual assault.

Antony, another Manchester United player, has faced consequences as his country and club suspended him during ongoing investigations into allegations of sexual assault. It is essential to acknowledge that each case should be thoroughly investigated, and individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Hence, Antony has been pictured recently making efforts to establish his innocence

Antony Matheus dos Santos, a 23-year-old left-winger who plays for Manchester United, has been accused by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, and two other women (one of whom has dropped her case as per DailyMial) of physically attacking and causing them bodily harm.

The allegations involve multiple incidents dating back to January, and Antony has denied the claims. Investigations into these allegations are ongoing, involving both Greater Manchester Police and Brazilian authorities. Antony is said to be cooperating with the authorities and is planning to hand over his phone to aid their investigations. but the Police in Brazil are yet to find any incriminating evidence on Antony.

The 23-year-old was dropped by Brazil’s National team and Machester United. The club said;

“Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the police are conducting enquiries,” said a club statement. “Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments.

“As a club, we are taking this matter seriously, with consideration of the impact these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse.”

Antony, who must, in a haste to return to active football, volunteered himself for questioning. The Manchester United player is reportedly planning to deny allegations of attacking his ex-girlfriend Gabriela, which allegedly resulted in her sustaining injuries, including a sliced finger and head wound. He is said to be cooperating with authorities by providing his phone for their investigations, as reported by The Times.

Since his absence from football, the Manchester United player was recently seen leaving his home in Hale Barns, which was formerly owned by Paul Pogba, just before 4 p.m. His current partner, Rosilene Silva, was also photographed leaving the property shortly before him. Later, at around 9:30 p.m., Antony was seen leaving a police station.

It was reported that he voluntarily cooperated with Brazilian police during an interview in June and was subsequently free to return to the UK. These developments are related to allegations of physical aggression against his ex-girlfriend Gabriela.

United winger currently on indefinite leave

Not only has he been dropped by the National team, but Antony is also facing a forced leave at Manchester United, pending the outcome of the investigations against him. However, the 23-year-old Brazilian maintains that he’s done nothing wrong and he would like to return to football as soon as possible.

A report said: “Antony is adamant he has done nothing wrong and wants to sit down with officers and let them ask him questions.

“He has nothing to hide and will hand over anything they want to see, including his mobile phone.

“He wants to be exonerated as quickly as possible so he can get on with his football career again without any distractions.”

Antony himself stated his innocence clearly, thus; “I’m 100 per cent sure I never touched a woman, and I’ll come up with the evidence.

“I’m sure I’ve never committed physical violence.”

However, investigations are ongoing in a bid to establish Antony’s innocence, and he has also fully cooperated with the authorities so far to ensure his return to football for club and country.
