Brandon Ingram claims it ‘crazy’ coaches play ‘double-teams at me’ but never select for NBA All-Star team

The biggest event in the NBA, the All-Star Game, is around the corner, and the NBA recently announced the starters and reserves for the anticipated game. After the announcement, some players were seen to be a bit salty for not being included, and Brandon Ingram is one of them.

Ingram has been a key player for the Pelicans in recent seasons and has proven himself as an elite player. However, that was not enough to get included in the All-Star roster, and Ingram had a few words to share about it.

Brandon Ingram furious after missing NBA All-Star team

The New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram was furious as he shared his thoughts about the All-Star games selection. Ingram reportedly said, “That is crazy… They all send double-teams on me. Yet, they do not vote me for All-Star.”

Brandon expressed his dissatisfaction with the coaches and stated that they don’t vote for him at All-Stars despite sending double teams to him. Ingram has been a valuable asset for the Pelicans alongside Zion Willamson.

Brandon’s frustration is understandable. However, he is not the only player to express thoughts on the All-Star selection. Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler also shared his candid views on the matter and expressed his desire to win.

Brandon Ingram proving doubters wrong this NBA season

Brandon Ingram had a lot of doubters who were doubting his capabilities as he entered the 2023-24 season. However, he has been proving them wrong by delivering exceptional performances week after week this season.

Most recently, Ingram scored 21 points in the first half alone against the Toronto Raptors. He helped the Pels secure a blowout victory over the Raptors with a final score of 138-100 at the Smoothie King Center.

The Pelicans small forward has also put up a respectable stat line this season. He is averaging 21.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game with a 49.4% field goal percentage.

Brandon Ingram when combined with Zion Willaimson forms a deadly offensive attack for the Pels. They have been carrying their team so far this season. However, Zion’s future at the Pels is unsecured as he broke a clause in his contract.

What do you think of Brandon Ingram’s recent statements about the All-Star selection? Do you think that Ingram should have been selected this time? We are eager to know your thoughts, so drop down in the comments and let us know.
