Toni Kroos is set to stay at Real Madrid for one more season, as reports suggest he has agreed a contract extension. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the German midfielder is set to sign a one year contract extension for Los Blancos, which will see him play for them until 2025. It is yet uncertain when he will be signing that extension, and no official confirmation has been made yet.
Many fans were previously worried that the veteran will be retiring after the season is over. His existing contract is due to end this summer, and there were rumors that he will not be extending his contract and wanted to retire. The player had earlier stated he wanted to retire at his best while playing for Real Madrid. Many fans, including former teammate Isco wanted to see him play for more years.

Kroos has been phenomenal for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season as well, racking up 20 starts so far. He is still dictating the team’s midfield, with his accurate passing and crossing ability creating many chances. Despite an influx of players in the midfield department, he is still a guaranteed starter for the manager. It is unlike his teammate Luka Modric, who has seen limited playing time and is linked with an exit soon.

Amidst the news of his club contract extension, Toni Kroos earlier made the sensational move to come out of international retirement. He last played for Germany at the 2021 Euros and made the decision to retire after that. But his phenomenal club performances and the beckoning of new manager Julian Nagelsmann convinced him to come back to the team.

He provided a brilliant assist just 7 seconds in the match against France, while also assisting the winning goal in the game against the Netherlands. The two friendly games ended in victories, which have boosted the team’s morale ahead of their 2024 Euro tournament on home ground.
These victories were very important, as the team had experienced a very tough period of time for the past few years.
