The great news was that Tatum walked in his power without limping, and later made a court return during the second quarter. Despite the injury incident, Tatum played for a total of 41 minutes against the Warriors and averaged 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists while shooting 5 of 7 from the field.

After the game, Tatum disclosed to San Francisco reporters that his ankle was swollen, which affected his playing on the court. Jayson Tatum said, “Not to make any excuses, but when you sprain your ankle it kind of swells up and it’s just stiff, so it’s tough to … it just makes it a little tougher to move.”

“But I still was out there, so I feel like if you go out there and play, you can’t make any excuses,” he added.

Following Tatum’s injury, it has become quite uncertain if the star player will feature in the Celtics’ back-to-back matchup against the Kings on the road. But it’s expected that without Tatum on the court, the team would be determined to maintain their top-seed spot and triumph in the coming games.
