The NBA season has officially begun, and the Dallas Mavericks’ star, Luka Doncic, had one of the best starts this season. Doncic’s participation in the season opener against the San Antonio Spurs was in question due to his injury status.

However, that didn’t deter him, and he played in the opener, delivering a classic Luka-level performance against the highly anticipated rookie Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. He appeared quite content with the start, even dropping an F-bomb during the post-game interview.

The Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs, both teams faced each other in the AT&T stadium on the night of 25th October, 2023. It was the season opener game for both teams led by star players on both sides. Luka Doncic for the Mavs and the most anticipated rookie, Victor Wembanyama for the Spurs.

The match was exhilarating and had fans on the edge of their seats until the very last moment. Ultimately, it ended in victory for the Dallas Mavericks with a final score of 118-115. The Mavs had established a solid 15-point lead in the fourth quarter, but a desperate push by the Spurs in the final moments cut the lead to just one point with only 10 seconds left on the clock.

In typical fashion, Luka Doncic emerged as the savior and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the Mavs, making a free throw at the last moment to secure the win. During his post-game interview, he expressed his praise for another rookie on the Spurs, Dereck Lively II, and inadvertently dropped an F-bomb.

During the interview, Luka said, “ he didn’t seem like he was nervous. So, he played f***ing amazing.. sorry sorry.” Luka’s voice lowered after this moment as he realized that he had mistakenly dropped the F word on television. However, the interviewer, Cassidy Hubbarth comforted Luka by telling him that it was the first game as everyone was getting back into the rhythm.

Doncic overcomes injury hurdles to shine in season debut

Luka Doncic’s appearance for the Dallas Mavericks season opener game was in question as the Mavs All-Star had injured himself in early October. However, his recovery went well and he was cleared to participate in the match. Luka Magic didn’t let this opportunity go to waste, he proved why he is the face of the Mavericks franchise as he delivered a stunning 35-point, 12-rebound game.

He suffered a strain on his left calf in practice and was resting to heal. Doncic had been bothered by a strain injury in his thigh since February but still managed to compete in the FIBA World Cup and secured 7th place in the tournament with his National team Slovenia. Now that he’s in good shape, it would be exciting to see him perform with the Mavs.
