Marlon Vera has some choice words for the person who broke into his house during Sean O’Malley fight

Marlon Vera had the opportunity of a lifetime in the main event of UFC 299, but he faltered against Sean O’Malley via unanimous decision. Despite the loss, Vera showed immense toughness as he refused to get knocked out in face of powerful knees and clean punches from O’Malley.

Vera’s toughness was praised by UFC CEO Dana White and other stars from the promotion. However, during his main event fight at UFC 299, something unfortunate happened to his home in Irvine, California, USA.

Marlon Vera issues stern warning for burglars

Marlon Vera lives with his wife and three children in Irvine, California, and his residence was burgled whilst he was fighting Sean O’Malley at UFC 299. Vera issued a stern warning to burglars via Instagram stories.

“The fucking asshole that broke into my home, I’m gonna find you”, Vera posted via his Instagram stories. Sean O’Malley commented, “That’s fucked”, on an X post that broke the news about the incident.

The incident was the first of its kind as a UFC PPV headlining fighter’s house was broken into whilst they were fighting. Nonetheless, Vera’s stern warning should scare the burglars as Vera is one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC.

It is worth noting that former UFC fighter Lee Murray is still in prison in Morocco for his role in the Securitas Depot robbery. Murray was incarcerated at Sale Priso in Morocco since 2010 and his sentence is for 25 years.

Marlon Vera issues statement following loss to Sean O’Malley

Marlon Vera was outclassed by Sean O’Malley at UFC 299 in the rematch of their first encounter at UFC 252 which Vera won via first-round TKO. However, at UFC 299, O’Malley flipped the script and avenged the only loss of his professional MMA career.

Vera issued statements on his social media handles after the loss to O’Malley. “I dream about last night my whole life and fell short at the end of the day I will be Back thanks to my family and team for being by my side,” Vera captioned his recent Instagram post. The Ecuadorian also tweeted a similar post but in Spanish.

Vera is still a top-5 ranked bantamweight and he is only two or three wins away from a title shot. However, the road ahead is not easy. Vera has already lost to Cory Sandhagen, a former interim bantamweight title challenger.

Petr Yan, Song Yadong, Henry Cejudo, and Umar Nurmagomedov are potential opponents for Vera as he looks to rebound from the loss. Another potential opponent is the winner of Deiveson Figueiredo versus Cody Garbrandt.
