Ryan Garcia reveals one condition Dana White must approve to book potential Sean O’Malley UFC bout

Boxing and MMA collided when Conor McGregor stepped into the ring to face the undefeated Floyd Mayweather. The event was a huge financial success for McGregor and has made several UFC fighters to call for boxing matches against some of boxing’s biggest superstars like Canelo Alvarez, Ryan Garcia, and Gervonta Davis, among others.

Kamaru Usman called for a boxing match with Canelo Alvarez when Usman was the pound-for-pound king in the UFC. Moreover, Sean O’Malley, the current UFC bantamweight champion, has called for crossover boxing matches against Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, and Devin Haney.

Ryan Garcia aims potential Sean O’Malley bout

Ryan Garica, the former WBC lightweight champion, called for an MMA fight with Sean O’Malley, the reigning UFC bantamweight champion. However, Garcia put in a condition for such a fight to happen. “I’d fight Sean O’Malley in the UFC that’s it but Dana you’d have to cut me that real check,” tweeted Garica on X.

Garcia is already scheduled to fight the undefeated Devin Haney on April 20 in what is Garcia’s second high-profile fight in boxing. On the other hand, O’Malley is scheduled to defend his bantamweight title at UFC 299 against Marlon Vera. Moreover, O’Malley has already announced that he will be looking to defend the title against Merab Dvalishvili.

O’Malley’s original plan was to fight for Ilia Topuria’s featherweight title after UFC 299 but rescinded the plan after backlash from fans worldwide, who clamored for a title shot for Merab Dvalishvili, the one who holds the longest active win streak in bantamweight division.

Ryan Garcia rebounded from his first professional loss which was against Gervonta Davis with a TKO victory over Oscar Duarte. His upcoming fight against Haney has fans all riled up due to the immense popularity of Garcia and Haney’s stature as a former undisputed champion.

Sean O’Malley once called out Devin Haney

Sean O’Malley has been calling out boxers even before he won the UFC bantamweight title from Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292. Moreover, after he became champion, his instincts were dead set on high-profile boxing fights, particularly against Gervonta Davis.

O’Malley also targeted a fight with Devin Haney as well via his social media platform X. Haney once tweeted, “Nothin will break me..”, to which O’Malley commented, “I would,” Moreover, Sugar Sean once audaciously claimed to defeat the trio of Davis, Haney, and Garcia in a single night in an MMA fight.

The UFC has been extremely rigid against UFC fighters boxing after the Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather bout. However, O’Malley revealed that the UFC will be willing to do it if the numbers make sense.

Ilia Topuria, the new UFC featherweight champion, has also expressed his interest in fighting a top boxer. However, unlike O’Malley who is targeting somebody his size, Topuria’s target is Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
