It looks like Kylian Mbappe will be spending another year with Paris Saint-Germain despite Real Madrid actively pursuing the French superstar. PSG have turned down Real Madrid’s €200 million offer, and are firm with their €250 million price tag with little room for negotiations.
The 24-year-old France National Team captain has been the number 1 target of the Los Blancos this transfer window after Karim Benzema secured a move to Al-Ittihad, leaving the striker position in the Real squad empty. Now, with little to no hope left to get Mbappe this season, the Spanish giants have turned their attention to finding an alternative, and it seems like they have identified just the right player!
Real Madrid’s alternative to Mbappe
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid will pursue Serie A giant Juventus’s prolific Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The 23-year-old currently wears the No. 9 jersey for the Turin-based club after they brought him in from Fiorentina for a transfer fee of €81.5 million. Standing 1.9m tall, Vlahovic has all the qualities to turn into one of the game’s most lethal strikers.
Dusan’s best seasons were with Fiorentina. In the 2020-21 season, the Serbian scored 21 goals in 37 games for Fiorentina across all competitions. The following season, Dusan scored 17 goals in just 21 games for Fiorentina, following which the Serb was bought by Juventus in the 2022 January transfer window. He went on and netted another 7 goals in 15 games for Juventus that season.

Vlahovic’s 2022-23 season was not as spectacular, though, just like Juventus’s. He managed only 10 goals in 27 appearances, and Juventus finished the season empty-handed, managing only a 7th-place finish in Serie A.
Which other clubs are in pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic?
Real Madrid are not the only club who have shown interest in the young, dynamic forward. According to multiple reports, Chelsea are in hot pursuit of the talented Serbian forward.
Chelsea are reshaping their current squad after having a horrendous 2022-23 season. The newly appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino has a track record of working well with young players, and he can aid the Serb heavily into becoming one of the most dangerous attackers in the world.
