UCL champ Manchester City sends brutal warning on $59 million star Bernardo Silva transfer amid Barcelona interest

Manchester City have had an incredible 2022-23 season, winning the much-coveted treble consisting of the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. In the already star-studded squad, there are a few that stood out – Bernardo Silva being one of them.

Despite being a crucial player in the Man City squad, there have been ongoing rumours that the Portuguese attacking midfielder is looking to make a switch to FC Barcelona. However, it looks like Pep Guardiola is unwilling to let one of their best players go just yet.

Man City sends strong warning over Bernardo Silva transfer

The 28-year-old Portuguese has become a crucial player in Pep Guardiola’s Man City squad ever since he joined the club from Monaco in 2017. Joining in at just 22 years old, Silva flourished to his fullest potential under the veteran manager in the 6 years he spent at Manchester.

Bernardo Silva has drawn attention from Europe’s biggest clubs, with clubs like FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly showing interest in securing the Champions League winner’s services. Amid all the rumours, manager Pep Guardiola has insisted that Silva isn’t up for sale.

According to reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are expected to offer Bernardo a new contract soon.

“Understand Manchester City have told PSG and Barcelona that they have NO intention to negotiate at any condition for Bernardo Silva.

“Man City will also offer new contract to Bernardo very soon.

“Player’s position will be crucial; but Man City have been strong & clear.”

Silva shows interest in Barcelona move

Although Manchester City are unwilling to sell one of their star players, Bernardo Silva’s position on the transfer is extremely important. The player reportedly wants FC Barcelona to begin negotiation talks with City, possibly before the Premier League kicks off on August 11.

It looks like Bernardo wants to walk down the same path his former captain, Ilkay Gundogan, has walked on. Gundogan joined FC Barcelona as a free agent last month after City decided not to hand him a new contract.

Bernardo Silva

According to reports, Bernardo Silva and his wife, Ines Tomaz, want to move to Barcelona; however, Silva wants to end his stay at Manchester on good terms because of his huge respect for the club and their fans.
