Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have slowly become close friends ever since the former Cavs star arrived at the Mavericks. Despite a rough first season together, the pair is considered to be among the best duos in the entire league. The chemistry between the two players is flawless and it seems this will grow to be much better in the upcoming season.
A video surfaced on the internet where Luka and Kyrie were seen training ahead of the star of the new season. In that video Luka could be seen taking a page out of Kyrie’s playbook and showing off some skills on the court. Both the stars look fit and healthy with the Mavericks looking strong as potential championship contenders.
Luka replicates Kyrie Irving’s wild moves
The video was posted by Hoops Central’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. In the video Luka Doncic showed off his ball handling and dribbling skills against their trainers. The trainer defending against him was left bamboozled as Luka Doncic went past him with great agility and dribbling skill. He finally finished the drive with a layup and walked around the court laughing.
Kyrie Irving was left stunned after seeing Luka Magic’s moves and was probably reminded of his own playstyle. Luka Doncic is not one of those players who likes to dribble a lot and get past his opponents with great dribbling. But in the video, he showed the fans that he can handle the ball fairly well when the opportunity demands it.
Is Kyrie Irving the best ball handler ever?
Kyrie Irving is arguably the best ball handler in the entire game ever. Ever since his first season in the league he had shown exceptional ability as a dribbler. Over the following seasons his passing and shooting ability became even better, making him a very difficult player to defend against.
His ball handling skills allow him to create space and get past defenders with ease, making it substantial where he can get a basket whenever he wants. Kyrie has mastered the crossover and uses it in a variety of ways to lose defenders. The combination of his quick release, body control, low dribbling and creativity, most possibly make him one of best ball handlers to ever play the game.
