Following ankle injury, Warriors’ Draymond Green receives “bro forgot he’s pushing 40” remark

Every player is vital to their team in the coming season in order to fight to claim a piece of silverware. Having a player like Draymond Green staying healthy and fit going into the training camp is surely a great thing for any team including the Golden State Warriors.

Unfortunately for Green, the veteran suffered an ankle injury and it has seemingly taken a toll on the aging NBA star. As his appearance in the first half of the regular season could possibly be in jeopardy, Draymond Green’s injury will also pose as a threat for the Golden State Warriors.

Green’s injury may cause him trouble as he approaches 40

In a physical game of basketball, age could be a major determinant of how long a player is able to enjoy the on-court affairs. Recently, it’s reported by Jason Dumas of KRON4 and later affirmed by Draymond Green to Andscape’s Marc J. Spears that he suffered a left ankle sprain during a pickup game. Green is expected to be out 3-6 weeks.

Regarding his injury Green said, “I dodged a bullet and learned that today by the way it’s (positively) reacting. Even with an MRI, you don’t see the trend of it immediately. The swelling is down.”

Green who is 33 years old and approaching 40, has previously suffered a serious back injury during the 2021-2022 campaign which afforded him to play just 73 games. Concerns are pilling over Draymond Green’s recent injury as many feel that as he is approaching 40 years could affect his durability throughout the coming campaign.

Exploring how Warriors will suffer following Draymond Green’s injury

Despite the buzzing concerns over Green’s age, the Warriors expect a lot from him in the coming campaign as they believe he still has the skills to earn them success in the upcoming season. Green who is entering his 12th season in the NBA with a new four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Warriors, has been the key man in their team.

Draymond Green, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson have played together for a decade, and with the recruitment of Chris Paul to the team, there is a big need for an adjustment period which is now jeopardized by the sudden news of Green’s injury.
