LeBron James pleaded for more court time in Lakers’ fifth straight defeat against the Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets have become the Los Angeles Lakers’ nightmare. The Lakers suffered another defeat from the Nuggets in the opening night encounter after the previous defeat they suffered in the Western Conference Finals last season.

The franchise’s situation seems to worry LeBron James the more. During the Lakers’ last encounter with the Nuggets, a leaked video clip shows the King asking for more game time in the wake of their latest defeats to the reigning champions.

Leaked video shows Lakers star advocating for increased playing time

The Lakers were defeated in their season opening night against the Nuggets with a score line of 119-107. With the results, the legend LeBron James saw his losing streak in Game 1 of the new season with the Lakers increased to six since joining in 2018.

In a recent video that has since gone viral, the franchise star man appeared to be advocating for more playing time on the court. The legend was heard in the video saying “Y’all do know I can play point guard too, right? Okay, we got a lot left. I can play the point with Rui in there or, Austin, and T.P., at the 2 and 3. I’m just out there just floating around.”

LeBron James who played only 29 minutes on the court managed to average 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. LeBron was the only Lakers player who scored 20 points at the Ball Arena while making 10 out of his 16 shots and no turnovers committed.

The legend, after the game, attributed the motive of asking for an extra minute to his belief that he could have made more impact on the game. He said, “Listen, I mean, I always want to be on the floor. Especially when you got an opportunity to win a game or you feel like you can make impact.” While there could be a lot of questions about why King James is having limited time on the court, the fact remains that the legend might need workload and fitness management because of his age something HC Darvin Ham has previously acknowledged.

Lakers’ losing streak vs Nuggets

The Nuggets edged out LeBron James and the Lakers again in their opening match-up. The Nuggets have now won six straight games against the Lakers. After the game, LeBron James talked about the loss and way forward with reporters, the legend maintained that the Lakers need to play better to win the Nuggets.

LeBron said, “Nah, I mean, we gotta be better obviously when we play them.”  With regards to the recent loss, the legend revealed that they lost because of transition points and second-chance points. “What we gotta iron out is transition”, King James said.

It appears that the Nuggets are the strong favorites to win the Western Conference again in light of the Lakers’ first outing this season. If continue this poor run of form, they won’t be ready to challenge the Denver Nuggets for the championship.
