Tyrese Maxey breakdown: 76ers PG dedicates his epic performance win against Pacers to Kelly Oubre

Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers has been in excellent form since James Harden’s trade request to the Clippers was completed. The 23-year-old who joined the NBA as the 76ers’ 21st overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, has been impressive in his team’s success lately.

While the trust of the 76ers for Maxey has paid off in their current campaign’s performance, he has emotionally dedicated his most recent sparkling on-court performance to a teammate who is in a critical health condition.

Maxey was impressive with a career-high 50 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 20 for 32 from the field, in the first of two straight games in Philadelphia. Maxey’s 44 points against the Raptors were his highest before last night’s outing.

With 1:05 remaining, Maxey’s last basket was a 32-foot step-back three-pointer, but to release him, MVP-winning player Joel Embiid passed the ball and set a screen. Embiid who initially tagged Maxey “The Franchise”, added 13 rebounds in 33 minutes, which inspired the team’s best nine-game start since opening 10-0 in 2000-2001 to reach the NBA finals. After the game, Maxey thanked everyone, especially his teammates, and Embiid later shared that the team operates on a foundation of trust among its members.

According to a post on X by Shams Charania, the Philadelphia’s small forward and shooting guard Kelly Oubre suffered a broken rib and other injuries after he was hit by a vehicle while walking near the Philadelphia center on Saturday night. Oubre was treated in hospital and was later released but is expected to miss a handful of games.

While Kelly Oubre is in stable condition and getting proper treatment, Tyrese Maxey has continued to dazzle, which has gradually improved the team’s momentum. Fans can hope that their stellar run of form might even propel them to an NBA championship.
