Weeks after Dwayne Wade’s “rent-free” response, Paul Pierce gets reminded of 6-year-old beef with Draymond Green by $260,000,000 star

Dwyane Wade, an instrumental player for the Miami Heat, had a successful NBA career with three championships under his belt. However, some people still question the greatness of his career.

One individual who has publicly compared his career to Wade’s is former Boston Celtics player Paul Pierce, who won just one title with the Celtics. After Wade responded to Pierce’s claims of having a better career, Paul was also reminded of his beef with Draymond Green by a hip-hop star.

Drake revisits Green-Pierce trash-talk

Paul Pierce has been trying to establish the debate of having a better career over Dwyane Wade since 2019. However, Wade responded that he is perfectly fine with all his achievements and attention. This was revealed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.

Wade said, “Rent is expensive and I’m living rent free…it’s documented, I don’t need to say anything…I went and got my Avengers…” The legend who was inducted into the Hall of Fame on Aug. 12 finally responded to the one-time champion Paul Pierce.

Drake, a Hip-Hop star dropped his album, “For All The Dogs”, and seemed to throw weight behind the NBA’s most prominent trash talker, Draymond Green. Drake posted on his Instagram story a 2017 trash-talking incident between Green and Pierce.

Green said, “Chasing that farewell tour, they don’t love you like that. You can’t get no farewell tour. They don’t love you like that … You thought you were Kobe,” Drake has had his own share of trash-talking with Green, especially during the 2019 NBA Finals, but it ended in peace, as the duo shared a dinner after the game.

Pierce explained the beef with Draymond

Paul Pierce was a guest on NBA Countdown where he discussed a trash-talking incident involving him and Green that generated buzz on the internet. He mentioned that Green’s trash-talking game was “light” and elaborated on how AAU has affected great trash-talking. Pierce further explained the details of what happened between him and Draymond Green.

Paul Pierce said, “This is how it all started: Blake Griffin posted him up, got a foul, and I was pretty much like, ‘You can’t guard Blake. He gonna give it to you all night. You only good because you have Steph Curry, KD, and Klay Thompson around. That’s the only reason you get recognition.”

“I’m trying to spark my team with the trash talk, go at their emotional leader and give my guys some confidence, and that’s when you heard say what he said.” Pierce maintained that his trash-talking moment with Green was a big deal because trash-talking is a dead art.
