Malik Nabers responds to being called “high maintenance” prospect

Reports from NFL insider Tony Pauline suggest that some teams harbor “off-field concerns” about  Malik Nabers, labeling him as “high maintenance,” particularly in a big city. However, Nabers wasted no time addressing these rumors, taking to Instagram Live to offer his perspective, displaying his trademark confidence and resilience.

In response to the swirling rumors, the star receiver remained composed, acknowledging the nature of the draft process.

“You know they gotta pick somebody in this draft. I guess they just pick me,” he said.

While he may not relish the attention, the 20-year-old receiver understands that it’s all part of the journey to the NFL. Meanwhile, Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz stepped forward in support of the receiver. Schultz criticized Pauline for attempting to tarnish Nabers’ character, highlighting the receiver’s talent and potential instead.

Despite the off-field chatter, there’s no denying Nabers’ on-field prowess. With a total of 144 receptions, 2,474 yards, and 28 touchdowns over the past two seasons, he has firmly established himself as one of the top receiver prospects in this year’s draft class.

Malik Nabers to visit multiple NFL teams this week

Malik Nabers is making the rounds ahead of the NFL Draft, with visits scheduled to key teams this week. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he kicked off his tour with a visit to the Tennessee Titans on Monday. This is followed by Top 30 visits to the New York Jets on Tuesday and the Chicago Bears on Wednesday.

Nabers’ recent interactions with teams have fueled speculation about his potential landing spots. Last month, he had dinner with the New York Giants, sparking rumors about a possible fit with the team. With the Giants currently navigating their quarterback situation, Nabers addressed the speculation surrounding his potential role in the team’s plans.

The LSU receiver’s impressive college performance has catapulted him to the top of many draft boards. In the 2023 season, Nabers emerged as a standout player, amassing 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 15 touchdowns. His stellar performance, coupled with his chemistry with Heisman Trophy winner Jaylen Daniels, has solidified his status as a top wide receiver prospect in this year’s draft class.

Bleacher Report’s Scouting Department has taken note of Nabers’ talent, ranking him as the No. 7 overall prospect and the second-best wide receiver behind Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. The star receiver’s combination of size, speed, and playmaking ability has scouts buzzing, making him a great prospect for teams in need of offensive firepower.
