Rhea Ripley relinquishes WWE Women’s World title due to injury inflicted on RAW

Wins over Becky Lynch on WrestleMania 40’s first night cemented Rhea Ripley’s one-year reign as WWE Women’s World Champion. But after last week’s horrific steel chair onslaught by Liv Morgan, her hold on the championship has been suddenly undermined. Unfortunately, her incredible championship reign has come to a premature end due to injuries endured backstage.

Rhea Ripley took the center stage tonight on Monday Night RAW to talk about the matter. With a hint of annoyance on her face, she spilled the beans about being asked to give up her championship and take a few months off from wrestling because of her injuries. Mami said that when she got back, she was going to take the championship back.

Rhea Ripley put the WWE Women’s World title in the middle of the ring in a serious way to show how important it was to her. She immediately turned her ire on Liv Morgan, accusing her of being behind the assault that had brought her to this point. Morgan went onto the stage over security’s warnings, smiling as she enjoyed Rhea’s pain.

The segment ended with Ripley knocking down a security guard and then leaving RAW to start her road to rehabilitation. The Nightmare will definitely pursue vengeance, but for the time being, she must concentrate on getting well so she can resume her year-long dominance over the ring.

Latest on Rhea Ripley’s injury

Shortly after WrestleMania 40, Ripley reportedly hurt herself when appearing on “Monday Night Raw” backstage. Even though Mami didn’t participate, she was the victim of Liv Morgan’s vicious attack, in which Morgan swung a chair at her and then threw her into the wall of the corridor. Ripley seemed to have sustained a shoulder injury in the collision, however, the specifics of the injury are unknown at this time.

A PWInsider report claimed, “The issue is severe enough that the talk internally is that Ripley may be forced to vacate her Championship, possibly as soon as tonight’s episode of RAW.” Initial reports say that Ripley’s collision with the walls during the section was an unplanned event. As of right now, we don’t know whether Eradicator’s injury is real or just a narrative twist.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
