MJF’s possible return plan dismissed due to a major surgery

Earlier, it had been reported that MJf’s five-year deal with the Jacksonville-based company ended in January. Despite this, he’s thought to still be under contract and is supposed to come back in March. Unfortunately, his return has hit a snag. According to reports, MJF’s return might be delayed since he just had surgery on his left shoulder.

After suffering many injuries throughout his title reign, the AEW star took a break from wrestling after his defeat in December at AEW Worlds End. According to the recent reports suggested by Jason Solomon of the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast, the former AEW champion had to have surgery on his left shoulder since the therapy session he attempted didn’t work well.

Formerly speculated to return in March after meeting with Tony Khan, MJF’s return is now unclear because of the surgery. Moreover, because of these sudden changes in treatment, his feud with the Undisputed Kingdom has also had to undergo some creative modifications. It has also been reported that Adam Cole’s injury is also connected to these modifications.

The extent of Friedman’s injuries has put every creative plan on hold, and his recovery time could range from three to six months. Even more perplexing is that his deal with AEW has already ended, and there have been zero positive signs about a possible renewal.

MJF’s AEW contract renewal remains shrouded in Mystery

Uncertainty surrounds MJF’s future with All Elite Wrestling, despite his stellar performance in 2022 and 2023. Rumors over the status of his AEW contract remained unsolved even after he expressed his intention to remain with AEW after the December Worlds End PPV.

At first, a lot of individuals thought he had renewed his contract with the company, but suddenly he was removed from the official website’s roster list, which made things confusing. The situation is even more complicated by the news of his surgery and facts regarding how he was going to return in March, as Jason Solomon noted.

However, fans are now waiting for further information on MJF’s future plan and are hopeful that the powerhouse will make a speedy recovery.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
