Who are the newly crowned WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance?

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven were the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but unfortunately, their title reign came to an end on the latest episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

They lost their title to Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, who have been working hard to establish themselves as a recognized tag team since their promotion to the main roster of Raw. Despite being overlooked on a few occasions, they managed to make their mark and emerged victorious in the match, leaving no doubt about their skills and abilities.

Who are Kayden Carter and Katana Chance?

Kayden Carter’s real name is Allyssa Lyn “Lacey” Lane. She was born on May 20, 1988. She began her professional wrestling career in 2018 after training at the Team 3D Academy. In 2018, Kayden participated in the Mae Young Classic, where she won against Vanessa Kraven and Taynara Conti. However, Meiko Satomura defeated her in the quarterfinals. On January 29, 2020, she achieved her first NXT victory by defeating Chelsea Green.

Kacy Esther Catanzaro, known as Katana Chance in WWE, was born on January 14, 1990. She excelled in gymnastics before her wrestling career. Katana had a WWE tryout on January 4, 2017, and was signed by the company. Her first wrestling match was on April 19, 2018, ending in a loss. She retired in September 2019 due to back issues but made a surprising return in January 2020.

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance teamed up for the first time on the September 16, 2021 episode of NXT, where they won against Jessi Kamea and Xia Li. They continued their partnership in the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic competition, where they displayed excellent performance and advanced to the semi-finals but ultimately lost to Dakota Kai and Raquel Rodriguez.

On August 2, 2022, the two wrestlers made a notable accomplishment in their NXT careers by winning the vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship in a thrilling Fatal 4-Way tag team elimination match. Their reign as Women’s Tag Team champions was brief because Fallon Henley and Kiana James defeated them at NXT Vengeance Day 2023, causing them to lose the titles.

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance were chosen to join WWE Monday Night Raw in the 2023 WWE Draft. They debuted on the main roster on June 5th during an episode of RAW. Their opponents were the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Regrettably, they lost the match.

Triple H congratulates the newly crowned WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions

In the latest episode of WWE Raw, a surprising turn of events took place in the Women’s division. Former Undisputed NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance emerged victorious against Piper Niven and Chelsea Green to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They earned their title shot by winning a number-one contender’s match against other top teams in the division.

They secured their victory over Chelsea Green and Piper Niven with their signature “Afterparty” double-team finisher to clinch the title. This win has earned them the approval of WWE CCO Triple H.

After the match, the pair snapped a photo with WWE CCO Triple H backstage at the event. Following the show, The Game shared that picture on his official Twitter account and congratulated the new WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, with the caption, “The party’s just getting started…”
