CM Punk grabbing all top-3 ranks in WWE merch sales leaves fans divided: “No Cody Rhodes”

CM Punk delivered an outstanding performance at the Royal Rumble event on January 27. However, fans were soon disappointed after Punk announced on the same week’s RAW that he would take a break from wrestling due to a recent injury.

Today, on February 1, 2024, WWE released the record of their top-selling t-shirts on their site, and unsurprisingly, the ‘Best in the World’ took all three top spots in the company’s merchandise. Fans are delighted for the 45-year-old star, while some are disheartened about Cody Rhodes not making it to the list.

CM Punk tops at WWE merch sales

CM Punk’s comeback has been good for the Stamford-based company, which attracted more crowds and increased the ratings on both the Red and Blue brands of WWE.  After the ‘Best in the World’ returned at Survivor Series WarGames, WWE has seen a huge number of fans supporting the 2-time World Champion by buying his merchandise multiple times.

Recently, Punk dominated the top 3 sections of the merchandise sale chart and his presence continues to make a significant impact, even though he is injured. Other superstars like Randy Orton and Jey Uso, who appreciate Punk, have also sold their merch multiple times. Punk’s top products are the Return T-Shirt, the 2011 T-Shirt, and the Hell Froze Over T-Shirt.

This is not the first time the ‘Straight-Edge Superstar’ topped the sales chart. Back on December 1, 2023, Punk’s merch especially his T-shirt of the Youth, Women’s, and Men’s version were the top picks for the WWE fans.

Fans stunned after Cody Rhodes misses top 10 spot

Cody Rhodes is the new face of WWE, and the American Nightmare has proven his wrestling talent after he eliminated ‘The Second City Saint’ from the Royal Rumble 2024 match. This month WWE released the best-selling merch on the WWEShop and shared the top picks of the fans. Punk has all three top places for himself, while Rhodes does not even have his name on the list.

Fans were shocked as the ‘master of Cross Rhodes’ is the top favorite superstar currently on WWE. So seeing him not even on the list saddened some fans. One fan took to Twitter and said, “No Cody Rhodes…Now he will not win at WrestleMania. His star power is over.” Another fan commented, “No face of the company Cody.”

Cody Rhodes and CM Punk last faced each other in the biggest battle royal of the year 2024. Where Punk got injured during the match and he told the fans in the same week’s RAW that he might be unable to attend the upcoming WrestleMania 40 event in Philadelphia.

The ‘Straight-Edge Superstar’ got hurt after he landed in a bad position during Drew McIntyre’s Future Shock DDT. He still willed himself to continue the match and was the runner-up of the main event.

WWE’s creative team had some big plans for CM Punk in WrestleMania 40 but unfortunately due to his injury, he will likely miss the event. ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes on the other hand, will go to WrestleMania 40 for his second opportunity to finish his story.
