Rhea Ripley taunts Cody Rhodes on WrestleMania 39 defeat to Roman Reigns: “I finished the story”

WWE superstar Rhea Ripley is presently in her home country of Australia, where she is promoting WWE Elimination Chamber, an upcoming premium live event. In 2023, she solidified her position as a dominant force in the women’s division by delivering unforgettable performances at WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble.

Recently, Ripley contrasted her and Cody Rhodes’ “stories,” drawing attention to her title win as a satisfying narrative climax, in an apparent dig at Rhodes for failing to deliver on his plot at the same WrestleMania.

Rhea Ripley mocks Cody Rhodes

After a thrilling match at WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley triumphed over Charlotte Flair to become the WWE Women’s Champion for the second time. At WrestleMania 39, she made history by removing 29 opponents—a record that Bayley broke this year. The Women’s World title may have a new name, but Ripley is still the undisputed champion. In a recent interview in Australia, Mami humorously compared her story with Cody Rhodes after he failed to win the World Title at the same PLE event in 2023.

While speaking with Notsam Wrestling, Ripley slyly poked fun at Cody’s lifetime desire to win the WWE Championship by referring to her epic WrestleMania success as the moment she “finished her own story.” Ripley joked that she was the only “Nightmare” who kept her word, making fun of Rhodes for missing WrestleMania the last time.

After winning the Royal Rumble again, Cody is getting ready for WrestleMania this year. If WWE wants, then he might face The Tribal Chief on the next SmackDown. If it happens, then this will be their first chance to meet in person within almost four months.

Rhea Ripley believes Elimination chamber to be her WrestleMania stage

Highlighting her incredible rise through the ranks of WWE’s women’s division, Rhea Ripley is now reigning as the Women’s World Heavyweight Champion after her victory against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. She carries around a plethora of records as a champion. Despite not being able to attend the Royal Rumble, she was there to see Bayley’s win and even suggested an Iron Woman match for WrestleMania, but she is still waiting for confirmation.

One opportunity for fans to see her perform is during the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in February, which will be held in her birthplace. There are reports that Mami will have a match with Nia Jax on February 24. This would give her a chance to settle an old deal with Roman Reigns’ cousin.

Fearing the passionate reaction of her home country fans, The Eradicator announced her intention to prepare for WrestleMania 40 by taking on a strong opponent in the elimination chamber. She hoped to compensate for her absence from the Royal Rumble.

Last year’s PWI result clearly shows that she was the best performer in the women’s division, with 50% of the vote. If she keeps up her current pace, nobody will be able to surpass her. Having said that, do you have any second thoughts on the matter of Rhea Ripley’s joke to Cody Rhodes? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
