Tessa Blanchard reportedly considered for TNA return

Tessa Blanchard, during her time in TNA, was one of the top Women’s Wrestlers on the planet. The fact that she is the only female competitor to ever win the Impact World Championship is enough to prove that claim. Fans can expect to see her back in the TNA ring as recent reports indicate a potential return.

According to PWInsider, there have been talks of bringing Tessa back to the company. It is still unknown if talks have taken place between the 28-year-old and TNA, but if the rumors turn out to be true, then the Nashville-based company will have a star in their hands.

After her firing from Impact Wrestling in 2020, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer, Tully Blanchard has been performing in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) since October 2023.

Despite having a meteoric rise in her early days, Tessa Blanchard has remained in the shadows for a while now after her misdemeanors outside the ring derailed her career.

Reason behind Tessa Blanchard’s downfall

The night of January 14, 2020, saw one of the most groundbreaking moments in pro wrestling when Tessa Blanchard pinned Sami Callihan at Hard To Kill pay-per-view to win the Impact World Championship. That was anticipated as the start of an iconic title reign, but soon everything went haywire.

During the same time, multiple women came forward to raise their voices against Tessa’s bullying over fellow talents. According to Forbes, Chelsea Green, Priscilla Kelly AKA Gigi Dolin of NXT, Renee Michelle, Shanna, Allysin Kay, and Tanea Brooks were among the women who highlighted how Tessa misbehaved and demeaned her coworkers.

One such accusation stated that Tessa spat on the face of La Rosa Negra while using a racial slur during a backstage moment in Japan. Though no evidence was provided, the damage was already done as the wrestling community turned on her, calling for her cancelation.

Things went South with Impact as well after the pandemic lockdown when the former Rosebuds member refused to defend her title at the 2020 Slammiversary. This was the final blow to her already declining career and Impact decided to fire her.

After years of personal reflection and growth, now Tessa Blanchard might finally get another chance to bring her career back on track given things work out with TNA soon enough.
