Becky Lynch vows to win WWE women’s world title at WrestleMania 40 after brutal Rhea Ripley insult

Becky Lynch won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match in February and got the Women’s World title shot at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. Since then, both female icons have been in a feud, trying to one-up their adversary on different occasions.

‘The Man’ Becky Lynch recently vowed in an interview that she will win her upcoming main event-worthy match for the WWE women’s world title at WrestleMania 40. ‘Big Time Becks’ further insulted Rhea Ripley by calling her edgy and a person who should not be associated with WWE’s women’s division.

Becky Lynch vows to claim WWE women’s world title from Rhea Ripley

Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley are some of the current greatest wrestlers from the women’s roster. WWE has set both stars up an upcoming title match at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In February, ‘The Man’ participated in her first-ever Elimination Chamber match and shocked the WWE universe after she won the right to fight Ripley on WM 40.

The 37-year-old female icon was recently seen in an interview talking about a lot of wrestling facts and her personal opinion on them. During that segment, ‘The Man’ surprised the fans after she took a vow and declared that she would defeat the master of ‘Riptide’, Rhea Ripley, in their upcoming match and that she would make her daughter proud.

Becky has been eyeing the Women’s World Championship for a long time. Back in December 2023, she disclosed on an RAW exclusive that she would take the title from Ripley on WrestleMania.

“There is the next stop, which is taking the title off Rhea Ripley. When I hold that title, that title is the main event of every show. Her title has been seen in many main events, but not because she’s been defending it. No, just because she’s being the accompaniment to the main event. I can’t have that. I’m sick of that. I’m sick of that and I’m going to take that title back off her, preferably at WrestleMania”, said Becky Lynch.

Becky Lynch claims Rhea Ripley’s appearance is bad for women

Rhea Ripley defended her Women’s World Championship in a triple-threat match against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at a WWE Live event on March 23 in Springfield, IL. During the match, Ripley hit Jax with a stinkface, and Baszler took the opportunity to place herself in the opposite corner to get a stinkface from the buttocks of the Australian Superstar. However, Nia interrupted the move, much to the fan’s disappointment.

Right after the clips of Ripley using the said maneuver went viral, Becky Lynch questioned the message these uncensored moves were sending to female fans. Speaking with Wrestling News, ‘The Man’ said that Rhea’s actions are affecting young fans, who will take this sort of action and relate them to professional wrestling.

“If I have my daughter, and she’s seeing that and she’s thinking that that’s what she needs to be if she’s a professional wrestler. When I think of the amount of women that were at one stage, fighting against that treatment… Maybe I’m just like stuffy and jaded because this is the stuff that I had to fight against”, said Becky Lynch.

‘The Eradicator’ and ‘The Man’ ongoing feud is hyping their singles title match on WrestleMania. Fans are excited to see both icons in action in the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’, The fans are divided into supporting both superstars, as Rhea is a highly appreciated heel wrestler, whereas Becky is the babyface of the women’s division.
