He has said in several interviews that Rey Mysterio was the one who set him on an entirely novel path. Rhodes stresses that figuratively kicking McMahon’s door led to a chance that changed his career.

Cody Rhodes revealed backstage story about his match against Rey Mysterio

A gem of a WWE bout took place at WrestleMania 27 in 2011 between Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes, lasting less than sixteen minutes. Cody recently gave an exclusive interview to Inside The Ropes, in which he told a funny story about how he saw Rey Mysterio, literally knock down Vince McMahon’s door to set up their WrestleMania showdown. In the interview, the host asked Cody, “How did it come about that you and him get the match?”

Rhodes stated, “It’s exactly what happened. I remember standing by the ring and Dash and Cody Rhodes fizzling out. And there’s a whole discussion on one side of the ring about why I don’t wear knee pads. And then on the other side of the ring, Ray- Cody. I’m excited. It’s Ray, mysterious. Go over. Hey, has anybody talked to you about Wrestlemania? No, not yet. No, of course not. Nobody’s like, Well. I’m thinking about matches and I want to work with you. (Rey Mysterio)”

While recalling the hilarious door-knocking incident, Cody added, “Then he just goes, Boom, boom, boom. I look, it’s Vince’s door. Well, I don’t do this. I just knock, knock, stick my head in, Hey, never mind. Close the door. Ray just literally pushes the door open on his bottom foot and Vince is caught off guard and Ray goes””

Cody Rhodes to potentially finish the story at WrestleMania 40

The American Nightmare barely missed the championship in the WrestleMania 39 classic between Roman Reigns and him. Rhodes wants to win the title at WrestleMania 40 and end Reigns’ reign.

The Rock’s alleged role in the prior claims concerning Reigns’ WrestleMania 40 commitment has been disproven by recent SESCOOPS reports. The addition of home show dates by Reigns suggests a championship defense before WrestleMania.

With WWE’s obvious intentions for Reigns at WrestleMania 40, fans are eager to see his opponent. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio suggested a Reigns-Rhodes matchup. Rhodes said in his post-Money in the Bank news conference that winning the WWE championship is only half of his family’s journey, which makes this battle significant.

The Smackdown tease of Reigns and Rhodes fighting excited fans. Philadelphia may host a WrestleMania 39 rematch between the Tribal Chief and the American Nightmare next year.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
