MJF claims AEW has “the best professional rosters ever in the history of the sport” after the arrival of ex-WWE champ

After the recent AEW WrestleDream event, AEW Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF has claimed that at present, AEW has the best roster in the history of pro wrestling. The statement might be contradictory in many aspects if we think deeply.

However, it is undeniable that the promotion has many big names on it. Superstars like Sting, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Cage, and recently joined Adam Copeland are part of AEW. This starstruck roster gives somewhat legitimacy to Friedman’s claim.

MJF drops claim after the arrival of Edge

At yesterday’s AEW WrestleDream event, MJF, aka The Salt of the Earth, retained his ROH World Tag Team Championships against The Righteous faction in a two-on-one handicap match as his partner Adam Cole was injured.

MJF was interviewed on the post-show media scrum, where he was asked about the arrival of Edge in AEW. The Salt of the Earth surprisingly gave a pretty humble answer to that question, where he appreciated Tony Khan’s dedication to the business and also said that Adam Copeland might be his future opponent. Subsequently, the AEW star even claimed that his current promotion has the best roster.

“I think he’s another guy who is coming into my company who wants my spot and he’s got another f***ing thing coming if he thinks he’s going to take it. Great sign though. Good job Tony, I’m proud of you. But no in all sincerity. He’s an incredible professional wrestler. I don’t care I’m just going to say it. I think, bell to bell, right now we have one of the best professional wrestling rosters in the history of this sport.”, said MJF.

MFJ defends his title on AEW WrestleDream

AEW superstar MJF retained the ROH World Tag Team Championship titles at AEW WrestleDream even without his tag team partner Adam Cole. The Salt of the Earth went head-on with the Righteous faction. His tag team partner, Adam Cole, was unable to participate in the bout due to an ankle injury that Adam Cole suffered at the AEW Grand Slam in Queens, New York.

The AEW Champion used some underhanded tactics throughout the match to keep his opponents Vincent and Dutch in check. The Righteous duo also made MJF run for his money with their lethal combined moves.

Without his partner, The Salt of the Earth had a hard time in the ring. However, the rising star was able to defeat the duo of Vincent and Dutch by delivering some action-packed combos. Fans present in the arena were shocked by witnessing such a feat from the current AEW Champion.
