Will Ospreay explains why he would be homeless without the Assassin’s Creed franchise

Will Ospreay, hailed as one of NJPW’s premier talents and acknowledged by AEW President Tony Khan as one of the best wrestlers globally, made his wrestling debut in April 2012. Since then, he has consistently captivated fans worldwide.

Ospreay is also a passionate video game enthusiast, and he openly incorporates his love for Assassin’s Creed into his in-ring persona. The 30-year-old wrestling star recently shared a personal revelation, highlighting how the game played a crucial role in his life.

Will Ospreay explains his special sentiment for Assassin’s Creed

Will Ospreay loves video games and Assassin’s Creed holds a special place in his heart. During the Wrestle Kingdom 18 event of NJPW, the superstar dawned Assassin’s Creed gear for his entrance, which is very unique and goes with his persona.

The entrance incorporated a remix of “Ezio’s Family,” a track by Jesper Kyd and a beloved piece from the original soundtrack of Assassin’s Creed 2. The screen during Ospreay’s entrance displayed visuals of characters from the series as well as moments from his matches with opponents, creating a captivating assassin-themed spectacle.

The Aerial Assassin took this to social media and thanked Ubisoft for making it happen. Will Ospreay in a post on Twitter/X said, “Thank you to @Ubisoft and @assassinscreed for allowing me to live a lifelong dream at Wrestle Kingdom! I hope you all enjoyed it!”

Following that tweet Assassin’s Creed’s official account replied, “Congrats to the Aerial Assassin @WillOspreay on a spectacular match at #WrestleKingdom. Amazing ring gear! #WeAreAssassins.”

The NJPW superstar then replied to Assassin’s Creed’s comment by saying, “For the last 11 years I’ve modeled myself around the games you guys have produced. To have yours & Ubisoft blessing and to collaborate of the entrance was truly incredible. Without those games I don’t think I would have a roof over my head. Thank you #WeAreAssassins.”

Will Ospreay’s final NJPW match announced

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion debuted in NJPW in March 2016 and faced Kushida in an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match at Invasion Attack. The leader of the United Empire stable has always given his best to wrestling fans and he hardly ever disappointed fans with his matches.

However, the superstar’s time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) is coming to an end. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful shared on his Twitter/X that Will Ospreay is going to have his last match on NJPW on February 11 at The New Beginning in Osaka in a cage match between United Empire vs. Bullet Club.

During the Wrestle Kingdom 18 event, Will said, “Bullet Club, you bunch of soft pricks. It seems like you guys want a fight. February 11th is my last match with NJPW. I will fight side-by-side with my brothers, the men that made Will Ospreay. My five versus your five. You can pick the rules. See you in Osaka bitch.”

In Ospreay’s latest match, a 5 vs 5 showdown, The United Empire, comprised of Will Ospreay, Jeff Cobb, Francesco Akira, TJP, and HENARE, faces off against the Bullet Club War Dogs, featuring David Finlay, Drilla Moloney, Clark Connors, Gabe Kidd, and Alex Coughlin. This epic encounter marks the first steel cage match in 20 years, and fans are eagerly anticipating the excitement it will bring.
