Matt Riddle reveals details on first meeting with Randy Orton

Matt Riddle, known for his outrageous claims, had a great tenure with WWE. He joined the company in 2018 but was unfortunately cut off after a budget cut was launched by the company, which caused a lot of WWE stars to lose their job. Riddle’s greatest career highlight was when he teamed up with Randy Orton and made the RK-Bro tag team.

During a segment with ‘Signed By Superstars’, Riddle talked about his first meeting with Orton. He said, “I think Randy didn’t like me. First time we met, I didn’t want to bother him and he’s going up to everybody [and shaking their hands] I had my headphones on, I was chilling and I didn’t go up and say hi to him. And I remember Randy going, ‘I’m going to figure out a way to get this guy fired.’ And I was like, ‘You said that, dude?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, but you’re cool now.”‘

Riddle is currently signed to Major League Wrestling (MLW) and occasionally appears in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The ‘King of Bros’ is now the NJPW World Television Champion and is making a name for himself in the independent circuit. A short while ago, the athlete expressed his regret for being unable to finish his story with ‘The Apex Predator’ and hopes to fight him someday in the future.

Matt was last seen with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, where he went on to say that Randy was angry at him and wanted to see Riddle give him the respect. He said, “He didn’t like me at all, not at all. I finally see him in person and when I see him in person, I’m stoked to see him. I’m like, ‘Oh dude, it’s Randy.’ So I walk by and I give him a nod. He was like, ‘What a piece of sh*t! Why didn’t he come up and shake my hand?'”

The 38-year-old star continued, “He’s generational, so they’re big on that respect and the little things. So, he didn’t like me when we first met but I have a tendency to grow on people.”

Matt Riddle and Randy Orton’s tag team champions run

The team of RK-Bro was initially proposed by Riddle on the April 19, 2021 episode of Raw, where he pitched the idea of forming a tag team with Randy. After some deliberation, the team was officially established on April 26, 2021. Their inaugural match resulted in a victory over Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.

At SummerSlam 2021, RK-Bro clinched their first WWE Raw Tag Team Championship by defeating AJ Styles and Omos. In Survivor Series 2021, they faced off against The Usos in an Interbrand match and emerged victorious against the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Following a title loss to Alpha Academy, they reclaimed their tag team championships in a triple threat match on the March 7, 2022, episode of RAW.

Randy Orton last appeared in the Elimination Chambers match at Peth, where he was attacked by Logan Paul. Fans are anticipating a potential title match between Randy Orton and Logan Paul for the United States Championship in WrestleMania 40 in April.
