CM Punk almost clashed with WWE HOFer Booker T at WWE NXT

CM Punk last appeared in the Royal Rumble match, where he competed against Cody Rhodes and got eliminated near the end. Punk, who was supposed to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight title, suffered from torn triceps at the battle royal, which made the WWE star take a break from some in-ring actions.

Former WWE star, Booker T recently explained on his podcast that he almost “got into it” with CM Punk after they had an altercation at NXT pay-per-view. WWE fans were surprised by ‘The King’ admitting he had a fight with the ‘Best in the World’.

CM Punk almost “got into it” with Booker T at WWE NXT

CM Punk made his world-breaking comeback at the 2023 Survivor Series, following which he initiated a feud with ‘The Architect’ Seth Rollins. Rumors suggested that Punk was slated to face Rollins at WrestleMania 40 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. ‘The Second City Saint’ even confirmed that plans were in place for him to compete in one of the main events on April 6 or 7, but his injury derailed everything.

During an interview with Caroline Pearce of TNT Sports, he said, “I was going to headline WrestleMania. Obviously, now I’m not. But, you know, it’s sports. It’s what happens to athletes. Mentally, I think it’s harder because the physical pain is whatever. But I look at it just like a bump in the road. This is an occupational hazard. It happens and I’ll be back bigger and better. I’m a clumsy idiot. I tore my left triceps about two years ago, so the right one was jealous.”

This week’s NXT saw Booker T calling shots at the brand, alongside Vic Joseph. Booker revealed on the Hall of Fame podcast that CM Punk also attended the event, and both stars had an alleged altercation at that time.

He said, “I almost had a little run-in with CM Punk. The internet might want to pick that up. Me and CM Punk almost got into it at ‘NXT’ this week… We’ll talk about it later, because they’re going to pick it up and run with it.”

CM Punk to return on WWE RAW

CM Punk made his comeback to WWE in Chicago, Illinois which is also his hometown, back at Survivor Series in November. This week on March 25, Monday Night RAW will be back in Chicago, Illinois, and fans are highly anticipating Punk’s return after this long.

As ‘The Straight Edge star’ underwent surgery for his injury, he will unlikely be cleared for active competition any time soon, WWE fans have made it clear that they want to see Punk and Rollins conclude their feud.

Although the storyline was in development, his injury made changes in plans for WWE. Seth Rollins is now scheduled to face ‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre for the title bout in WM 40, and even though Punk is sidelined for now, fans hope to see it change soon.
